About Bluegrass & Company
Bluegrass and Company is a band of three multi-talented musicians from Pickens County, SC.
They enjoy sharing their love of music in churches, at festivals, and private events in and around their community and neighboring states. Members are Elijah, Alyssa and Malachi.
The three members of Bluegrass and Company met through the Sweet Potato Pie Kids, YAMS (Young Appalachian Musicians) elite performance band. It was here they discovered their mutual love for bluegrass music. This mutual bond led to them forming their band. By calling themselves Bluegrass and Company, the band is not restricted to playing bluegrass music, but many genres in the style of traditional bluegrass music. The bands goal is to share their Faith and their love of music.

Meet the Band.....Elijah
Elijah is a junior in high school. He plays banjo and upright bass. Elijah began his musical journey in the Young Appalachian Musicians Program at the age of 10 and enjoys teaching in the YAMS Program weekly.
He enjoys weekly visits to his Great Grandfathers, reading, trains and old movies.
One of his favorite bands is "Appalachian Road Show."
Interesting Fact: He loves History.

Alyssa is a junior in high school. She plays guitar and mandolin and sings lead and/or harmony on many of the band's songs. She began her musical bluegrass journey in the Young Appalachian Musicians Program 5 years ago and now enjoys teaching in the YAMS Program weekly.
She enjoys spending time with her Great Grandmother, reading, shopping, cooking and singing.
She loves to listen to "Molly Tuttle" and "Allison Krauss."
Interesting Fact: She built her first guitar at age 16 that she currently plays on stage.
Alyssa is a junior in high school. She plays guitar and mandolin and sings lead and/or harmony on many of the band's songs. She began her musical bluegrass journey in the Young Appalachian Musicians Program 5 years ago and now enjoys teaching in the YAMS Program weekly.

Malachi is an 8th grader. He plays fiddle and mandolin and sings lead and/or harmony on many of the band's songs. Malachi began his musical journey at the tender age of 7 in the Young Appalachian Musicians Program and he also enjoys teaching other musicians through the YAMS program.
He enjoys weekly visits with his Great Grandfather, loves technology, coin collecting and his pet parakeet.
One of his favorite bands is "Carson Peters and Iron Mountain."
Interesting Fact. He is a wiz at rubics cubes.
